The ‘PONS - Inner-German Exchange of Students of Classical Archaeology’ programme promotes the mobility of students of Classical Archaeology in Germany. It enables them to spend a guest semester at one of the partner universities while having their study credits recognised at their home university.
For some time now, further networks of individual subjects have been established with the support of the Volkswagen Foundation, with the aim of expanding ‘PONS - Inner-German Exchange of Students of Classical Archaeology’ to ‘PONS - Humanities and Cultural Studies’. The Bochum Pre- and Protohistory is part of a new network. Here too, the aim of the exchange is to promote mobility and, as a result, the breadth of specialisation of the students. This enables them to expand their academic expertise through the programmes offered by the participating institutes.
Funding from the Volkswagen Foundation can also be aimed directly at students taking part in the programme, for example by offering scholarships.
Information on Pons and the change of study location can be found here (German only).
