Supporting researchers in the early stages of their careers is a central task of the Institute of Archaeological Studies. This includes offering both doctoral and postdoctoral researchers the best possible conditions to achieve their qualification goals and thus the next stage of their career development.
This is reflected not only in the large number and broad spectrum of doctoral and postdoctoral projects that are based or supervised at the Institute, but also in the graduate and post-graduate programmes offered, which are designed to promote both networking and independent research and work in cooperation with other partners.
Particularly noteworthy are the projects ‘Raw Materials, Innovation and Technology of Ancient Cultures’ (RITaK - Leibniz Graduate School), ‘Resources in Societies’ (ReSoc - Leibniz Postdoc School) and ReForm Scholars (open space for early career researchers as part of the Leibniz ScienceCampus ReForm (Resources in Transformation)), which is funded by the Leibniz Association:
